What is HGSPanel?
HGSPanel is a game server hosting control panel that has been custom written from the ground up by HostedGameServers.com staff. HGSPanel has been designed to be minimal, functional and easy to use. You can get more things done with less clicks using HGSPanel. The panel is complete with WebFTP, mod installers, re-installation of servers, location switching and multi-server management from one page. There are no complicated menus to drill through. Everything is right there, in one area, ready to go.
The ease of use begins in the game server ordering process right on the main HGS website. As you check out, you aren’t asked to create an account. You are only asked to input your username and email. If you enter a username that hasn’t been used yet, the panel will automatically create it for you and email you a generated password. You can change this password after logging in. If you enter a username and email that is registered in the panel, you are welcomed back and your server will be added to your existing account.
Once you order and pay with UltimatePay you are emailed a payment confirmation. Shortly after, you will be emailed that you have a sweet new voice server and a spanking hot game server ready for use. Run over to the login link in your email and log in. You will see a screen like this with your username and email at the top:
If you happen to log in too early, you will see a screen like this:
Just wait for your server to finish installing and it will allow you to continue.
Now all you have to do is click on the server you want to control. No page loads, its already there… the bar will smoothly expand to show you all the settings and options for your server. As you order more servers, you just get more bars stacked up!
Now you are ready to control your server. From here you can see your server’s IP (everything before the : sign) and the port (everything after the : sign). You’ll probably want to make a few settings changes first. Maybe adding a password to your server. Simply enter the password and click ‘Update Settings’.
Now you are ready to start your server. Expand your game again and click ‘Start Server’. The page will reload and look like the picture below. Notice the bar is now green, indicating that your server is started.
Awesome! Ready to play! Just click on the server bar and copy the IP:Port shown in green. Paste it into your game to connect!
As time goes on you will probably want more from the panel. Fear not, we have more. When your server is stopped, you will notice that on the right side you are able to re-install your server like new, migrate to a new location or open the Web FTP. We also have a Mod installer that has a database of mods that keeps on growing. One click mod installs!
We also provide web hosting, SQL and server backups. You can easily download backups of your server that were automatically taken at 4am each day, start your own website by putting files in the html/ directory in your account or start a database by connecting to the MySQL credentials provided for you. It’s all right there; no hunting around required!
Paying your bill is easy too. We tell you in plain English how many days until your payment is due. When you need to pay, we will email you. When you log back into the panel, you will see a new drop down to pay for one, three, six or twelve months for up to a 15% discount. If you don’t pay in time, we will hold onto your server data for 40 days before deleting it and you will have an option to resubscribe to pick up right where you left off.
We also have a referral system. You can earn your very own HGS Credit and spend it for any games that we host. Expand the User Credit bar to see your unique referral link and current user credit. For each person that clicks your link and then buys a game server from the site, you will earn $0.30 per slot they purchase! A single purchase of 20 slots earns you six dollars in credit. You can rack up credit pretty fast. Some of our users don’t pay for their hosting at all!
And finally, HGSPanel makes it easy to get in touch with our support staff. Expand the ‘Support’ bar and type your question. Your email is already provided for you! Your support replies will appear in your email for you and all you have to do is reply as if it were any other email.
