DESCRIPTION:
HostedGameServers.com is hosting a public challenge to the Minecraft community and giving away a free 10 slot Minecraft server for a month or $20.00 in credit. To win the reward, all you have to do is hand one of the admins (bricksolid or integrii) a diamond pickaxe. No mods. No cheating. No rules against griefing. You bring the pickaxe to us, press Q to throw it into our inventory and we give you a free server. Up to 32 players can join the server which will open precisely at 7:30PM Eastern Time. The world will be a fresh, random stock world with no modifications at all. Admins will be stationed around their initial spawn area. First come, first serve! GET SOME!!!!

How are you going to do this challenge if noone can connect to servers today because minecraft.net is down which means noones client can’t access the joinserver.jsp file?

We HOPE they fix the problem. People can still log in to servers though.
Must be a locational thing. No one here in Maryland can log in that I know of.
how the hell do i get on the whitelist?!
LOL WOW, i just tested the server to see if I could join when I set online-mode=false. This couldnt of taken more than 30 seconds. There wont be a whitelist when this happens.
So you were able to connect? is it an east coast server? Noone can connect to mine due to joinserver.jsp not being accessible on minecraft.net.
Yes I was able to, if you set online-mode=false you can connect. Change it in your server.properties. It makes it so you dont have to authenticate with minecraft.net.
WHAT!!! Well…that’s handy! lol. It’s working now. AWESOME!
So, if we already have a server can we just get credit toward that? Also, if one of my server’s players wins can they put credit toward our server? Thanks!
Yes, who ever wins they can do what ever they want with the credits. We can put it toward your server.
Kept getting kicked from server after less than 30 secs with error message of “You logged in from another location”

the older EXEs are bugging and crashing in offline mode!
If your getting that error your name is player. Some reason there are a bunch of people with the name player which then kicks you. Really an unexpected outcome of the online-mode=false. Sorry, but someone won lol.
